Expansion Joints - Metal, Fabric and Other Materials

Barron Fan Technology manufactures expansion joints of metal, fabric or combinations of materials. Each expansion joint is custom designed to fit your ductwork and your specific application.

Metal Expansion Joints can handle situations that cause fabric joints to fail.

Metal joints, depending on choice of materials, thickness and bellows size, can accommodate a great variety of demanding conditions.

Barron Fan Technology has made high temperature, abrasion resistant custom expansion joints for the process industries for over 25 years. Custom fabric and or metal expansion joints can be made to fit any ducting or other air handing systems, including dust collecting or ash handling. The materials selected will be dictated by your application. Custom sizes, shapes and configurations are our standard.

Expansion Joints are available as part of a new system, as replacements or for upgrade purposes.

Fabric Expansion Joints are one of the least appreciated components in your duct system. A properly applied joint will give long service. Often subtle variations in the materials and components make or break the joint. Making sure the materials and components will stand not only the heat involved but often the cold temperatures as well as the movement and pressures requires judgment based on years of experience.

Our Fabric Expansion Joints are comprised of a series of components depending on the temperature and service requirements.

Expansion Joints may be very complex with multiple layers of barrier materials and insulation or as simple as two layers of barrier material bonded to a fabric reinforcing layer.

When shopping for fabric joints, it is important to keep in mind there are tradeoffs to be taken into account. The more you know about the service requirements the joint must handle, the better the fit of joint material to the service will be, and the longer the joint will last.
